Plain (Common) Zebra
This photo was taken in Namibia. Note the plain zebra, one of three zebra species in Africa. The plain Zebras are the most abundant and the smallest of the three. It is found from the grasslands of East Africa to the scrubby woodlands of southern Africa. Plains zebras are social herd animals, living in family groups with a stallion, several females, and their offspring. They communicate with one another with sounds: They make loud barking sounds and soft snorts and wuuffs.
The only way the can protect themselves from predators is by powerful kick with the rear legs. Well, it is not always work, as you may see in the photo of the male lion in Kenya.
