Sossusvlei Sand Dunes

One of the largest National parks in Africa, is the Namib-Naukluft desert of Namibia. Part of the park consist from a vast area of sand and sand dunes.

The easiest place to visit the dunes is in Sossusvlei area, where one can find  some of the oldest and highest dunes in the world; many of them are above 200 meters, while the highest is about 350 meters high. Tsauchab river is one source of water to the trees and plants which grow in the valley, its water flew underground. Interestingly, since the dunes has covered the riverbed few times in the past , and it had to find a new course, Acacia trees lost its source of water and died
