Dagomba – Washing of a baby

Dagomba is an ethnic group which occupy huge area in the northern part of Ghana. They live in a small villages, each village has its own chief.
When a baby (boy or girl) is born, the midwife or one of the elders lady, wash him twice a day and smear the body with Shea butter. It is really amazing to see how the child is enjoying the daily treatment. On the his/her eighth day will be a ‘naming ceremony’.
