Qwesqwam palace, Gondar

Mentewab was a queen that ruled Gondar on the 18th century. She left the royal enclosure where the previous kings built their palaces, and built her own palace on a hill named Debra Sahay (sun mt.) which rise above the town.

James Bruce, the famous explorer that discovered the Blue Nile source at lake Tana (1770), lived in this palace for five years before his return to Europe.
