Calabashes and smiles
The Otammari people (known to some as Somba) are a small Ethnic group living on the border of Togo, on the North-West corner of Benin. They have their own language, a unique way of building the mud houses, and in tradition, very beautiful face decoration.
The women, apart of the domestic duties, are working in the fields. But when he dry season arrives, and work is finished, they find time for dancing and drinking. The dance is escorted by beating on huge calabashes, as seen in this photo.
