Giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis)

Giraffes are the tallest land animals. The small hump on their back, their face and the beautiful spotted coats gave them the Latin Name:’camel- leopard’.

Interesting to note, no two individuals have exactly the same pattern.

Female giraffes give birth standing up. Their young calf fall more about 1.5 meters to the ground at birth. It can stand in half an hour and run with their mothers about 1 day after birth.
